Monday morning

We completed our scheduled mission work last night. Today we head up to the Andes for a day of rest before we leave to return to Amarillo on Tuesday night.
Yesterday we did a rally in the plaza of a town called El Melon (the melon). The youth did two drama peices, face painting and gave testimonies. The rest of us read the God Loves You No Matter What book and showed the magic coloring book and gave out candy. We were there about two hours, celebrating the day of the child, which is quite special in Chile. Anyway, there were 27 people saved, mostly the parents who brought!
In the course of these 11 days, we have presented the gospel to over 1900 people, not counting the four times we were doing one hour radio presentations, two of which cover 32 stations all acroos Chile. So, maybe 10,000 or more heard the gospel! In 10 schoolassemblies, two day of the child celebrations, 4 church services, three women conferences, two athletic events, going door to door, speaking to people on the streets, we have counted over 300 people who prayed to receive Christ!
To God be the glory!

Yesterday we went inland to the edge of the Andes. We went door to door for 2 hours in a small town where some believers are trying to establish a church. We were privileged to lead 24 people to the Lord there in Catemu! One of the highlights was the McNabbs and Lainy leading a lady to the Lord that people had been praying for for 7 years! We had lunch there in a small restaurant after which we held a rally outside. About 100 people came. Fifteen prayed to receive Christ! Today we are heading that way again, but ministering in El Melon. We will hold a rally and we will go visiting as well. Blessings to all of you who will be in church together. Tell folks of our gratitude and oabout what God is doing!

We are grateful to God for all He is doing! We have done assemblies in 9 schools and presented the gospel to over 1300 students and teachers. Over 200 people and maybe closer to 300 people have prayed to receive Christ! Probably 30 or so have been adults. Today we will be in another school where we will not be able to give an invitation but where we will be able to present the plan of salvation. That has been the case in three schools so far. This afternoon we will be hitting the streets with the gospel in Quilpe where we have a youth rally tonight. Tomorrow we will be working with children and youth in the plaza of the city of Catemu and then on Sunday in El Melon. Pray for God to give strength and to protect us in our travels. Everyone is healthy and all have fallen in love with the Chilean people. Hello from all the team!

Tuesday report

The last two days have been amazing as we have gone into schools, neighborhoods, women´s conferences and youth rallies. We have see well over 100 people come to Christ. Everyone on our team has had a part in the different programs and visits. We did three assemblies today with a total of over 6oo elementary, middle school and high school students in attendance. We have spoken to teachers and principals as well, with several of them committing their life to Christ. Tomorrow we are planning to be in a school assembly and then have a sports evangelism event (evening) with our PBC youth playing basketball and soccer. We leave around 9 or 10 each day and return close to midnight. Yet, the Lord gives strength!Keep us lifted to the Lord for His glory.

Sunday, August 1, 2010

We had a very different kind of Sunday, but a great one, nonetheless. We went to Iglesia Bautista Maranatha where we worshipped with over 100 other of our Chilean brothers and sisters in Christ. Several of our youth and adults shared testimonies. Lainy and Blake read the God Loves You No Matter What book (Lainy read it in Spanish Blake showed the pictures and acted it out). The youth did the LifeHouse Everything drama after which I offered an invitation. It was a moving service for all of us. One adult was saved. After the service, we went to Valpariso for a 4 pm lunch in a restaurant right on the ocean (great seafood), after which we did some shopping and returned to Vina del Mar. We had ice cream at Bravisso and great fellowship. We will probably order pizza for a late supper. We will do two school assemblies tomorrow and then have a youth rally tomorrow night. We will leave the hotel at 10 am and return around 11 pm. Pray for us as we hit the streets and go into homes tomorrow afternoon to share the Lord and invite youth to the rally. Pray that many will come to hear the truth about God´s love. I can tell you that everyone is having a rewarding experience. We love Chile!
Thanks for all your prayers! Yesterday we left the hotel around 9 am. We returned around 11 pm. We spent the morning on a soccer field in a valley below 100´s of houses. We invited children to come, those we would see in the streets. We also communicated by loudspeaker )believe me, you could hear it for miles),offering to take photos and give them to the children. A few children came to play soccer. Our youth played with them. Ernie and Sherry took individual photos, We distributed Amarillo logo pins. Anita made animal balloons. Lainy and Kristen painted faces. As parents and children would come, we would meet them and speak to them through a translator. After an hour or so with these activities and conversations we began our program. Matthew, Kristen and Tanya (Fredy´s daughter die the little girl skit, Kristen gave her testimony, Drey, Freddy (Fredy´s son), Lance, Blake and Lainy did the What´s in the Box skit, Ernie did the Magic Coloring book, Connie read the God Loves You No Matter What book, I presented the gospel. There were 5 adults who were saved and one youth. Also there were12 children who prayed to receive Christ. We gave each adult a New Testament and a Bible study. The children each got a Welcome to God´s Family booklet. Each completed a decision card which we gave to the pastor who set it all up, Leo.

Hello everyone! Sorry that I have not had internet access. We are all well. We have a grueling schedule but rewarding. Last night we led a service in a remote neighborhood and 5 came to know Christ. A church that holds around 50, had 90 in attendance.! We are preparing today for the 6-8 schools we will be in next week. We have two huge youth and children rallies tomorrow and are leading a worship service on Sunday. Earlier this morning we gave testimonies on a radio station that has 32 stations across the country. The youth will sing on that same station next week. We are also doing a television spot (I will be reading and showing the God Loves You No Matter What book) and will be on two other radio programs in the next few days. Thanks for your prayers!
